Course Overview

This course covers advanced networking concepts for containers, including Multiple Network Interfaces (Multus), SR-IOV, and DPDK in container-based network functions. It also explores Intel's optimized service mesh for container networking and how to implement a secure container network with an ISV Firewall. The course delves into the benefits and usage of Multus, including network segregation for functional and non-functional purposes, and link aggregation/bonding for network interface redundancy. Additionally, it discusses the UserSpace CNI plugin and its role in implementing UserSpace networking. The course also covers the Zero Trust service mesh model and how Intel technology enables crypto acceleration through Intel Advanced Vector Extensions 512 and Intel QuickAssist Technology. By the end of the course, learners will be able to relate how Multus is deployed, demonstrate how to use SR-IOV and DPDK in container-based network functions, and express the benefits of using Intel's optimized service mesh for container networking.
